Born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1977, Kenny Thomas played high school ball in El Paso, Texas and later Albuquerque, New Mexico before he played college basketball for the University of New Mexico Lobos. The Houston Rockets drafted Thomas with the 22nd overall pick during the first round of the 1999 NBA Draft. Thomas played with the Rockets until 2002 before he was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in 2002. He played in the City of Brotherly Love until 2005.
